Training at Equine Differences
In 1986 Ric Weitzel began showing American Paint Horses in Ohio. He had the opportunity to work with some of the top trainers in Ohio and in the country. This opened the doors for Ric to be able to show many nice horses. Some of the horses that he showed and did very well with are, Pass the Class: a 1993 Superior Western Pleasure mare, North by Norfleet: a 1982 Western Pleasure ROM earning mare owned by Tom Eppley, Windell: a 1989 stallion with Multiple ROM's in Hunter Under Saddle events- which he also stood at his farm, and Justa Grand Flit a 1995 gelding with Multiple ROM's.
The most rewarding experiences Ric has gained have been being able to train youth and Amateur riders like the 1997 Reserve World Champion in Novice Amateur Showmanship and Hunter Under Saddle, Amanda Bores with Gallant, and multiple Superior and ROM earning teams. Some of these teams have been Tracy Wharton and Betcha Win Moore- ROM Western Pleasure, Amy Weitzel with Pass the Class- Superior Western Pleasure, Amy Weitzel with Eagles Buttercup- multiple ROM's and Superiors (unofficial), youth rider Amanda Zagorski with A Splash of Triples- multiple ROM earner, and his newest addition in 2005, Kailey Volk with UC Im a Playboy, currently working towards her ROM in Youth Western Pleasure and Showmanship. Ric also coached Liz Maclean with Markd A Mere Image, multiple ROM's and a Superior in Western Pleasure, for 4 years.
When Tracy Wharton left for college, Julie Weitzel purchased Betcha Win Moore and started training him to be a dressage horse. This gave Ric the opportunity to start learning the dressage world. He is now well versed in 3 different styles of riding and training.
